Bicycling Hawaii

Cycling around Hawaii?
I plan to visit Hawaii in July / August / September this year and I would like to see the islands especially our bicycle ride. I know that the Big Island is about 220 miles in circumference, and this would be a great challenge, but other islands are smaller I wonder if the bike would be more convenient there? Does anyone have experience of cycling in Hawaii? Ideally, we would go to Molokai and Kauai (avoiding the more commercial parts of the islands) and plan to do some farm-based work there and stay for a couple of months, moving around the farm to farm. We wonder what instructions are to see the islands by bike, as you can take your bike on inter-island, you can buy a bike there for pretty cheap, and if the ground does not allow to easily? Welcome any advice, thank you.
I would say the best place for you to be cycling on Molokai. Not a large population everyone is friendly and there are lots of plains, with the exception of some mountains. Residents are friendly and it is a quiet, picturesque island.
